If anyone knows how to get a hold of 'The Red Admiral' nowadays they might want to let him know that his work is being well and truly ripped-off by some pretty unscrupulous gamers out there. In particular, several of the images he produced for the 'Jupiter-class' section on the Trekmania.net website are being modified to remove his info!
Sadly, this group seem to be unable to think for themselves - we and at least two other PBEM RPGs I know of have come under attack and/or had text/images stolen by them!! We've filed a DMCA previously to get some stuff removed but sadly this one would need to be handled by Mark (The Red Admiral) himself for copyright reasons.

"We?" Is that the royal "we," the editorial "we"?

Losers! The second one is SO obvious that they are blanking out part of the pic, too.

His email address is on Bernd's Wolf 359 ships page, although that page is many years old. I'll try to send him an email about this. There's also a contact email on his site.

more like I don't wanna do this myself so i figure why not? get some other silly sap to bitch (and thus get all the hate in retaliation since they didn't care to ask to rap the pics, you KNOW they will stll be spiteful fucks...)

To quote General Thade:
"Kill them......ALL of them."
You know I only dabble with my art since my attention has had to shift to my job lately, but it still hacks me off when something I've done ends up getting nabbed. Especially since if they had simply asked permission I more than likely would have given it to them.

Nothing says Love like hakking 'em into Offline, however you do that...
probably would be the only fair thing to do (what? you think people are libel for that?
Sure, if yer Disney or MSN... steal from them and they come to butt yer mother on Pain-per-View...)

"We" (as in myself and another administrator / CO of our PBEM group) have filed copyright infringements with them.
I have tried contacting 'The Red Admiral' via various email addresses because I hate it when our artwork gets stolen so I know what it feels like

His email link on the Wolf 359 page is no longer valid, but I sent a message to his FAQ email link on his website. But I'll bet he doesn't check that on a regular basis. Can TSN or Charles get a more recent email addy from his registration here?

Given how totally he's dropped off the radar, I'm surprised no-one has considered that maybe he's actually a part of that gaming group!

Good point, but if he were a member of that community, and he gave them permission to use his artwork, would he let them deface it by removing his signature?
Posted by Ritten (Member # 417) on :
If they offered enough maybe he could be persuaded.
Posted by Deadilus (Member # 2039) on :
I doubt very much that he is a part of that community - it might look impressive but when you get to the core there are only really a few people writing a LOT of characters.
And given the fact that they have stolen work from us and another website, it is a pretty fair assumption that those images have been pinched too...

They are showing credits for the pics on both pages now.
Posted by B.J. (Member # 858) on :
Still, they shouldn't have edited his credits off the images in the first place.
