I love this headline: "Bahrain unrest latest crisis to alarm U.S."

Take a situation that is shaking a sovereign nation to it's core and somehow the story is about a bunch of alarmed yanks. Fantastic.

Yeah...the American media sucks as far as that goes. I don't watch the news because I know most of the 'real' news is just a few bytes they repeat over and over in between people talking about how various famous Americans feel about it or how it'll affect America or what the President said or *remembers to breathe* Anyway, you get it...

Pensive: I think the split occurred because at some point, one group wanted a pope-style caliph, and the other group wanted a council of elected caliphs...or something. Wikipedia surely knows more than my vague gatherings.

Then it becomes "Did President Obama respond to (whatever) correctly? can we critique him over somethng that happened on the other side of the fucking planet? we'll find out, after this commercial break...."

Really, some things should be limited to either a response of "Good for them!" or "That sucks".

Those Other Religious fucktards... are they libel for something? could someone at least come up with a good case to sue they, if only to harrass them legally and harm them financially?

I don't understand why that asshole hasn't already been charged with a hate crime. Free speech does not give you carte blanche to do whatever you want.

Making the whole country loook like ship is no crime- if it were, most of Congress woud be in prison.

Really, he bought the book, it's his property, he can burn it if he wants to- just as Klan goons can burn a cross or neo-nazis can wave a sawstica.

The high price of freedom is putting up with ignorant people's bullshit.

^Pretty much my reaction. It's just a collection of paper and ink, the book itself as a collection of ideas hasn't gone anywhere. That's assuming of course it was just a modern mass produced copy. If it was an antique then I think it would (or at least should) count as a crime of some sort. Vandalism maybe? I don't know.

The dilemma in my mind is that while my first instinct is to ignore such behaviour as it's clearly intended to get attention and inflame opinion, I can't shake the feeling that allowing this kind of sentiment to fester unopposed isn't a good idea either.

Best to ignore this dickweed- he's living off donations from far-right extremists and any attention to him is money in his bank account at this point.
