Just WOW. What a great start to Chapter 2. Quite a few laughs and I'm 99.99% positive Ash is Voq now.
Also that ENT reference to the Connie Defiant? That wireframe of it looked interesting but I wasn't able to get a good look thanks to the generally shitty nature of CBS.
I had a thought that they're gonna stay in the Mirror-verse or at the very least never return to Prime. Would explain the lack of spore drive in the rest of the series.
Thoughts?

Well, the Terran's have had the Defiant for quite some time now at this point so I suspect she looks different because of various modifications they put on her. I'm really hoping this "faceless" Emperor is related to Hoshi Sato in some way.

Okay, so I just got caught up with Discovery. And, so help me, I’m liking it. Like, way more than I thought I would. Including this episode.
Random thoughts:
Interesting tying together the rebels from “ In a Mirror, Darkly” with the Klingons, who we know eventually conquer the Empire. Hmm... I wonder if we’ll get a Cardassian mention, as they were allied with the Klingons later on.
“Captain Killy”? Well played, Discovery. Well played.
Yeah, Tyler is obviously Voq. Given that, and the fact that L’Rell and Voq had a thing for each other, I’m guessing Tyler’s nightmares are actually Voq’s memories of a consentual relationship bleeding through.
Culber! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
Emperor... I dunno. Yes, I would be tickled pink to see Mirror Hoshi still kicking around. Georgiou would also be cool. But the fact they’re saying “emperor” and not “empress” makes me suspect it will be neither.
I’m reserving judgment on the Constitution wireframe until we know more. It would be nice to get it outright stated the Terrans have modified the Defiant over ninety-ish years.
Also, while logical for the Discovery crew to pursue the Defiant angle, don’t we know that the entire Defiant crew died as a result of its trip to the Mirror Universe?
And yeah, if the Starships Discovery traded places, what is “Captain Killy” doing back in the Prime universe?

Question is - is that information on the Defiant from the Mirror datastore - or their own records?
Two things to consider:
1. Though they might not know the circumstances under which the Defiant left the Prime universe, because there wasn't exactly anyone left alive to update the records (wasn't it lft ambiguous in IaMD?), suppose they do? They can avert the disaster when it happens in about ten years time, and save hundreds of lives, some of whome the crew of the Discovery might know...
2. Suppose the Discovery's jaunt to the Mirror universe is a matter of record of sorts? Kirk & co. might now know about it, but like the Omega molecule it might be somewhere in the standard Starfleet records the Defiant possesses. Chances are it isn't, so the Mirror Powers That Be aren't expecting them - or are they?

It's probably from the datacore, as Lucius said he found something that could help.

Sorry, just thought I'd make a post about the episode itself not just the ships. So all DSC talk is gonna be on that thread?

I think people are getting their wires crossed here.
Lee made a post in this thread that he meant to make in the ships thread. His subsequent edit was essentially “Oops.”
Shikaru, you’re good. That’s exactly what this forum is for: Trek talk that’s not ship talk.

Jonathan Frakes directed episode 10, "Despite Yourself". That's pretty neat, that he directed one episode of Orville and now one on DSC. Very fitting. I wonder what his opinion is of both shows.

He's appeared as Riker in four different Trek shows, which is probably a record already, but I wonder if he's whlding out hope for a fith?

Well, they did specifically point out that the Defiant travelled both across dimensions and through time. If Discovery uses the same method to return home, there’s no guarantee it’ll return to 2256. Which means a Riker appearance isn’t ruled out completely.
In fact, I’d completely support a Riker appearance if only he’d specifically state that he NEVER USED THE HOLODECK AT ALL DURING THE PEGASUS INCIDENT.
Because I’m pretty sure everyone wants that retconned.

Gotcha! Just making sure.

A very interesting theory on how Prime Lorca is actually Mirror Lorca running away from the Terran Empire.
