You didn't give up on LD yet did you Kremin or are you getting ready for STP s2?
I can't do reviews like you...
Phaser rifle: "How are they different than regular phasers?" "They take two hands." I'm sure FrankG would weigh in... but how are they different? If a type-2 can disintegrate a person, why do you need a rifle? I guess it holds more phaser energy?
Weyoun as the evil computer. That only gives you black licorice'nuff said, except for the other evil computers. I have a CybertronPC, the thing might kill me one day too.

Of course Star Trek has its own tropes and cliches, but I was a little surprised that Mariner didn’t grumble about how their mission wasn’t important enough to send a whole starship, so they just send two ensigns on a shuttle. All the way back to Earth? And of course the shuttle crashes, because that’s what shuttles are for.
A hilarious little Easter egg I saw pointed out on twitter, with the wall of egomaniacal supercomputers, there was one computer whose face/indicator was the CBS eye. I love biting-the-hand-that-feeds-you humor!

No, I haven't given up on Lower Decks. I'm still very much enjoying it. It's just that things have been quite hectic for me lately, and my weekly review seems to have fallen through the cracks.

I think the phaser rifle would be more useful in combat because it's likely easier to aim and fire. I mean, in TNG, didn't the phaser rifle have, essentially, iron sights?

I mean maybe easier to aim assuming 24th century people played video games. Not going to lie, playing arcade shooters with light guns helped me get my Navy Sharp Shooter ribbon with a 9mm pistol. But it still doesn't make sense... if a Starfleet 'pistol' can disintegrate why need a rifle? Best I can figure is energy. The phaser uses energy, the Type-2 holds X amount while the the Type-3 holds Y amount and in prolonged combat, you want that Y amount.
