....spoilers for those who didn't catch the finale of DS9.

We all know that Worf was appointed Ambassador to the Federation for the Klingon Empire. While this may prove tough for a future DS9 movie (heck, everyone's gone anyway), it might set the stage for the next TNG film.

Consider, the next film may feature the Romulans being the bad guy (though it is not confirmed). Because the Klingons have had bad history with the Romulans, the Klingons may get involved. And if it involves a very messy spat between the two races, guess who might get involved.

Worf.

What do you think?

Haven't we already had this conversation?

As long as they don't explain it away by having Worf leave his ambassadorial position to return to Starfleet, I'll be happy. If they do *that* I'll burn Paramount Pictures to the ground.

Well, not really.

I SOOOOOOOOO still would LOVEEEEEEEE to see my dream of having an opening scene with the ENTIRE Federation council assembled... Featuring all the races we have seen before (that would presumably belong to the Federation) plus a few new ones...

This would and SHOULD not look like that ghastly scene from The Phantom Menace... I picture a UN sorta set up, with rings of seats... and a VERY typical Federation room - very plus, with lots of blues (like the background here) and yellows and browns - and polished silver - very Federationy...

And of course they would be finishing of the debate over the Bak'u problem MAYBE?? or something ENTIRELY different - something that requires the complete ASSEMBLY - the Romulan problem... we could then have representatives from other 'powers' Cardassians (Garak) Bajorans (Kira) Klingons (Worf, Martok) Ferengi (Nog, Rom), Romulans... senator Cretak!?! SELA!!!!?!???!?! They would be sitting separate - and of course, not with the rest of the council/members... Ohhh we could even have some THOLIAN observers...

That just made me think - does anyone think that we might see some Tholian activity in this next movie. We know there is going to be some TOS Aliens and Tholians have always been a thread in the tapestry of Romulan, Klingon and Federation affairs.

Didn't we see the Council in ST:IV? Granted, it'd be larger now ...

Nog wouldn't be there. Neither would Rom or Martok ... the leaders of the member worlds don't go to the Council, only the Ambassadors (at least, that's how I've always figured it). Worf wouldn't be there either, he's the Federation's Ambassador to the Klingon Empire, not the other way around.

Well, if the Riker/Trio wedding rumor is correct, that's how they'll bring in Worf. There's supposed to be a little gathering before they head off to the actual ceremony. Worf will probably be at this little gathering. Worf being present and readily available when all the action concerning the Romulans and/or Klingons erupts is just luck IMO.

I'm still hoping they let O'Brien pop up at the wedding, if only for a few minutes...

Well, given one of the so-called script reviews online has him deciding ambassadorial duties are not for him, and he returns to the Enterprise. But, most likely, they won't even attempt to explain his presence (well, Logan will, but it'll just end up cut along with anything else likely to confuse that oh-so-precious wider audience they're so desparate to attract).

Logan: "I'm writing this for the fans, the ones who've been watching since the beginning."

Berman: "Screw the fans, they're already hooked we don't need to worry about them. I want to make it for the non-fans that might happen to see the movie. Besides, most of your references are Pre-Braga...no one will ever get it. Don't you know that he and I are trying to re-create Star Trek in our vision?!"

I'm slightly annoyed at Hobbes' rather rude decision to be much more attractive than me though. That's just rude. - PsyLiam, Oct 27, 2005.

Hobbes : Yes , they are trying to "rewrite" Star Trek. But I see it more as they are trying to "modernize" Trek and do teh best with what they have been givin , And I'm with them , Gene is'nt around anymore to tell us what his dream was , not to mention its not 1966 , alot of Gene's dream doesnt make good (mainstream) media these days.

I know its not "nice" but its true.

Star Trek was an INTELLIGENT show... Voyager, in all fairness isn't a very INTELLIGENT show... it was in Season 1.

Wes : Thats Exactly what Gene's Dream was , Humanity had come to terms with itself and was now free before it could leave Earth and explore the Stars. So far I havent seen Berman and Comp. Violate this rule.
