I think it would be abandoning the premise to send Voyager home before the finale... I don't think we really need another 2 seasons of TNG...

NO! Voyager has been on the up and up since the Season 3 episode Real Life, actually i have loved it since day 1, and it did have a little drop in its quality in season 2, but didn't TNG...season 3 kicked off with a bang and when majestically, then hit a bit of a snag with eps like Rise and Favourite Son... but after that, really really good. a few not brilliants in season 4 probably really only Concerning Flight, other than that - top class Andrew. ------------------ With the first link, a chain is forged. Season 5 has been the best season thus far. No real bombs, IMO, and the rest of the season looks promising. The show had so much potential starting out, but they dropped the ball and let the show get bogged down in Kazon stories and such...only starting with the end of season 4 has the show started to hit it's groove. Sending them home now, with possibly two more seasons to go, would destroy the show's momentum. We'd end up with TNG redux. However, I think the show does have to get home at some point before the final episode. There will be repercussions for the entire crew when they get home, things that need to be explored (the fate of the Maquis, reunions with the crew's family, Seven reconnecting with humanity, etc.) It's just not two or even one season's worth of shows, though. ------------------ Lawrence Boucher "Oh, you're a spy? Tachy: Firstly, I wasn't serious, and secondly even if she did get the ship, Seven is now functioning as a human, and although she has the implants inside her she is afraid of the Borg, remember Drone. I don't think she would knowingly or willingly aid the Borg in assimilating the crew of Voyager or humanity after her two years on Voyager.------------------ "YOU SMEG!"

I don't mind the Trek home as long as Voyager avoids the Gilligan's Island stories (Gee we almost got home this time little buddy). If we could avoid too many of those then I say wait until the final episode to bring Voyager to Earth.

As someone who has to watch the show with significant delay I look much more forward to Voyager season 5 than DS9 season 7. The mere spoilers sound much more exciting, and this is corroborated by people's opinions. I'm getting "Drone" and "Night" next week. *excited* ------------------ Brain. Brain. What is brain? Considering that the Delta Quadrant stories are a bit exhausted and that the (Federation-focused) storyline from DS9 could be continued, I would like to see Voyager home soon. And what's so bad about TNG anyway, except that it shouldn't be imitated?

I'd like to see them getting blown up by a Data-clone before they get to Earth. And another thing, why do they always plot a course for Earth...why not the closest Federation starbase? I'm sure there are a lot of those much closer.------------------ The Unknown Vulcan

Yes, but that's why DS9 is about...mostly. They would continue their exploring somewhere.

I aggree that Voyager should not be brought home until the end (or very near) the end of the series. However, I wouldn't mind a few episodes in the Alpha Quadrant near the end of the series. It would be interesting to see what the crew does when they reach Earth (especially what happens to Seven). And it would also be interesting if Voyager got home in the midst of a major crisis, like another Borg invasion, where we could see some of that Delta Quadrant experience put to good use.

If Voyager did return from the DQ, what real difference could they make in the Dominion war? It's one ship, true they have some Borg tech, but it would take a very long time to deply that on the Federation Fleet. The only possible tactical advantage Voyager would bring the Federation is Slipstream Drive. Which I'll admit would be a HUGE advantage.Oh - I think Tachy was joking Orion. ------------------ I drink therefore I am. -Descartes

Voyager wouldn't necessarily be fighting the dominion, I'm sure the writers could come up with something different for it in the Alpha Quadrant, especially since all the rumours say the war will be over by the time Voyager reaches home. After all, Daryus Aden is right, Voyager couldn't make a large difference in a war as large as tnhe one with the Dominion. My preference would be to see Voyager welcomed home by the Enterprise, if only to see Piccard's expression when he sees a former drone on the bridge.
