Well, "that rumor" been confirmed by the WWF.

Duane Johnson, aka "The Rock" well appear on Voyager later in the season in a guest-starring role. Mick Foley, aka "Mankind" is also rumored to pop up this year.

Now, this definitely reeks of enforced intra-network cross-pollination that Trek was free from on syndication, and while I daresay I do watch pro wrestling (it is just a big male soap, really), I don't like the idea in pronciple.

However, I must say that "The Rock" is certainly one of the better actors on the show... sure, his character is a bit 1D (but then again, aren't all wrestling characters?), but he certainly isn't as useless an actor as your average wrestler. (yeah, I'm talking about you, Mr. Hogan).

I'd just like to say that I have absolutely no idea what on Earth you're talking about. All I got out of that is that some wrestling wacko is apparently going to be on VOY? Of course, that idea in and of itself is enough to make me sick...

To be fair, it's nothing that Mick Fleetwood hasn't already done.

There's one question I keep asking myself - Since DS9 was/is so good, why is Voy so rubbish? Oh well, there's always Series V...

*sigh* Why doth we always resort to Voyager-bashing even when it has very little to do with the subject.

"They're actors." That's what I keep telling myself.

Expect a recurring adverarial species to appear this season - a race of muscular humanoids who wear bandanas, but have a radiation in their homeworlds atmosphere that renders all their natural fabrics stringy and weak.

"Grr! We will have your cotton-weaving textyle technology!"

"FOOLS! Will I have to kill them ALL?!?!"

I've had a lot of time to think of useless stuff today.

Some results of the UPN wrestling merger.

Tuvok revealed to be an adept in the ancient art of the "Vulcan barnstormin' backbreaker".

New Borg catchphrase: "Resistance is futile, mofos. And that's the bottom line."

Recurring junior officers are given more descriptive names. Crewman Paul "The Ultimate" Rocheson. Ensign "The Bolian Bombshell".

New Starfleet uniforms introduced. Key design element? No shirt. (Female crewmembers are of course issued a tasteful mylar wraparound top.)

Trek producers take a cue from the WWF and realize that women can be shown as strong characters without having to actually enter the bridge.

Bridge chairs now detachable. And metal.

And of course the largest change...Sable of Nine.

You know, I'm rather glad I don't get Sol's jokes in this case...

And Jeff Combs is so talented...

Egads! *reads TrekToday* Now this wrestler is going to be a Vulcan. This is confusing...

Question: If this is UPN cross-promotion, why is there no... ahh, uhm... UPN promotion? They were quick to promote "Pathfinder"...

Hey, Combs? Cool! I was ready to write that episode off based on the descriptions I've seen. Now I eagerly look forward to it.
