WHat do you think that the new series may be about. I know what the basic outline of it is professionaly. Lets hear what you think it should be about.

Yep there sure are a ton

1. Section 31 meets Mission:Impossible
2. USS Excellent
3. Starfleet academy + Dawson's Creek
4. Star Trek meets X-Files
5. Even a "JMS will take over ST and make it good" theory

Funny thing. When Lee's not around, nobody points out when things are in the wrong forum...

Data2000, when you make a new topic, you should think about what forum it belongs in. A topic on the next series or movie probably belongs under General Discussion, not Voyager (unless you have some idea or question involving both, in which case it could go either way). There really should be a Forum FAQ telling you newbies all these things (I THINK someone was working on something like that, hint hint), so don't worry about it this time. If someone with the authority would be so kind as to move this thread to its proper location...

First: Welcome to Flare Data2000!!

Berman and Braga keep saying that the new series will air around the end of 2001. Truth is that they don't have a deal for a new series, or a new movie.

Maybe they need to go back to what made Star Trek good. An exploration series. You can change a lot with the crew (more females, alien as captian), they could have the problem of a galaxy rebuilding itself after the Dominion war. What about NOT putting them on the most advanced starship in the Federation, but an average one. This may work. Or it may just flop.

A few major rumours have surfaced about the new series.
1. That Stewart and Spiner want to head the new movie...and they DONT want the TV franchise

2. It is rumoured to be filmed in Australia at Fox Studios (same place Farscape is filmed)

3. It will have a very different trek feel. It wont feel like part of the current trek universe (read into that what you will)

For more rumours keep an eye on http://news.fsf.com.au it seems to have heaps on the new series as news comes to light

Fox Studios Australia - where The Matrix was and Star Wars will be filmed... I don't think a Paramount project will be filmed there.

I wonder if they are going to pay $10,000 a day again for location shooting like they did in Insurrection!?! - from Marina Sirtis in an interview...

Australia would be a good place - cause the residents won't charge rediculous amounts for location footage... but they could as easily go to New Zealand although Xena and The Lord of the Rings is there... or Canada but every man and his film are there... from SG-1 to Earth: Final Conflict.
