Hm, and renaming a .bmp to .jpg doesn't work.

Here lies a toppled god,
His fall was not a small one.
We did but build his pedestal,
A narrow and a tall one.

Don't even start me on fleet movements/arrows!
What basis/cordinates did you use for the core systems of the federation? Highly inaccurate against the real stars the core worlds a generally associated with. For instance a top down view of Earth toward the galactic centre would have Alpha Centauri to the upper right of Sol.
While not critizing your effort (I am a trek mapmaker too, and know how little info is availible), it is a poor interpretation of the DS9 battle maps. In fact there is a good disscussion on these said maps here under the DS9 forum, lasted posted around December/2000. I suggest looking at it!
Perhaps a lookin at StDimension wouldn't hurt either!
ps: No attempt at a flame war or other such things

Vulcan, Tellar, Alpha Centauri, Andor and then presumedly Earth!
................Andor.............
..................................
.Tellar..........Alpha Centauri...
.............Sol..................
..................................
..................Vulcan..........
A very rough representation of the core worlds with their respective commonly associated real stars.
Thus the Dominion attack would come up from Betazed through the lower left area. And take out the planets clockwise from Vulcan, finishing with Earth as (hopefully the most defended planet).

Once I get the "real stars" on my 3d map projection, we can try this again. I suggest we try to use the "Okudagram" ship movement schematic. Also, using a multi-layer program such as Fireworks, we could show the fleet movements/border changes frame by frame. This could be changed to a Flash or Shockwave format.
