If the writers call for a new ship that doesn't have to be "top of the line" then he may consciously make it one of the known classes. Though, the fact that it is that class may not come out in the episode. We may have to wait for some behind the scenes interview to find out what class it is. I am still flaburgasted by the fact that the Raven, Centaur, and FC Scoutship were never given offical classes.
