At the moment they are over four nights showing a TOS marathon of the first season episodes... I have seen a few of these episodes a long time ago. This marathon is just FANTASTIC though. I'm really getting into it. Once you get past the 60's decor and the 'low-grade'-ness of it all... as with most 30 year old TV shows... it is SIMPLY amazing... the characters really do or DID make this series.

I can also see where all those Kirk/Spock fan fictions came from

Homer: I'm gonna miss Springfield. This town's been awfully good to us.
Bart: No, it hasn't, Dad. That's why we're leaving.
Homer: Oh, yeah. [pokes his head out the window] So long, Stinktown!

Star Trek was (still is) an amazing TV series. There's a quality about it that moves beyond the poor sets and graphics.

I wouln't say that anyone who has ceased to post every time you rant has "realized that they couldn't win" Omega. It's more like "oh, great he comes Mr. conservative frontal lobotomy boy who only hits one note over and over and over and over..."

Andrew: If they show the 3rd season, please watch "Whom Gods Destroy" to see if there's a references to Spock being the first Vulcan in Starfleet. I need to know!!!

Yeah, the original series is probably the best of all Trek. The episodes had a particular "feel" or atmosphere about them. You believed that they were out there exploring, and that things mattered in the show.
Even TNG felt that they could call up Starfleet anytime they wanted, and there was no danger to anything.

Masao, sorry they are only showing Season 1 for this Marathon... I'm sure SOMEWHERE in the World, "Whom Gods Destroy" is being showed... "TO YOUR TV GUIDES!"

IMHO, "The Cage" is one of the best episodes ever.

The story was great, the props were amazing, and Spock even laughed!
They even had unisex uniforms, something TPTB probably didn't like.

Has anyone noticed how MUCH "Ensign Colt" (or was it Yeoman Colt) is a dead ringer (except for the read hair) as Nicole De Boer/Ezri Dax! Colt was CUTE!
