What is the difference between these 2 books, actually. I'm thinking of buying one.

There is none, except for the cover. Inside, they'e the same book. The actual first printings from the 70s are red covers, IIRC. My library had one when I was in elementary school - I practically memorized the starship designs back then.

The first one is just a 30th anniversary re-release.

Actually, surprisingly enough, there is one difference. I own both copies, and the original doesn't have the male duty uniform. (Only the female.)

Well, gee...

Methinks perhaps my copy hath been tampered with, non?

When and where did you acquire it, and is it in good condition otherwise?
