Can someone scan the drawings of the Starfleet space suits for me out of the TNG Tech Manual?
Thanks, -MMoM

IIRC, there were two spacesuits shown - teeny weeny frontal B/W drawings showing virtually no detail. The lighter version had simply a bubble helmet with a squarish faceplate drawn around the head of a person clad in standard TNG uniform, and some boots and gloves added. The material for all the add-ons was soft, because it was wrinkled... The heavier version had a more angular helmet and heavier boots and gloves, and perhaps a breastplate. Not very convincing IMHO, but perhaps consistent with the TOS versions...
I don't have a scanner where I have the book, or the book where I have the scanner, though. Perhaps on Monday? But I warn you, it won't be worth it.

I think they were actually consistant with the flimsy looking suits that Roga Danar was about to put on in, oh, "Whatever The Hell Episode it Was Where Roga Danar Went Nuts and Blew Up Stuff on the Enterprise"(TNG).
Other than that, I don't think we ever saw a TNG EVA suit until First Contact, did we?

Oo, good catch!
No, I don't think we ever saw anybody wearing an EVA suit or any other envirosuit in TNG until "First Contact" the movie. And I rather wonder if the suit that Roga Danar never used in "The Hunted" (see, I have them memorized, see?) was even fit to be worn... Perhaps the script was written the way it was because the costume dept couldn't come up with a design that could really be donned by an actor without making him look so silly that the audience would lose all respect of him?

Yes, I choose to regard those suits with respectful disdain. I mean, come on...what in the heck were they thinking...
Not only are the suits ugly...but the drawings make whoever's wearing them look like some worn out, overweight grandmother with cottage cheese thighs...

How you look in a space-suit is of course of PRIME IMPORTANCE... especially in the 24th century ;o)
That little vehicle on the right... that is some-what the way I picture what Tholians look like - prollay without the arms and with the heads something like what we see on screen in "The Tholian Web"

Are we to believe that those suits have the same color blocking as the TNG duty uniforms? That seems like a bad idea!

Funny, I really don't think they look too bad, myself.

It doesn't matter *how* you try it, AngelFire doesn't let linking to their stuff (or your stuff on their webpages).
And now you're the guy who says "'Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope Special Edition' is second only to Angel Fire Hosting services, damn you!"[ December 09, 2001: Message edited by: Malnurtured Snay ]
