Paris: "...we could do it (completely constructed the Delta Flyer) inside a week.."

Now, if it only took them a week to build the Flyer, why not build like a bigger ship. Not necessarily a real big ship, but a small one like the Raven or even a Peregrine-class fighter. That would give the crew something to do and a new environment to work on. Right? What do you guys think?

Why would they unless they would use it to go home?

Well, if it's only there to give the crew something to do, it would be a bad idea. They only have limited resources. Better not to waste them on busywork.

Beware them both, and all of their degree, but most of all beware this boy, for on his brow I see that written which is Doom, unless the writing be erased. Deny it!' cried the Spirit stretching out its hand towards the city. 'Slander those who tell it ye! Admit it for your factious purposes, and make it worse. And abide the end!'"

Plus, they are limited by the size of their shuttle bay, storage facilities, maintenance abilities, etc.
