Just stemming this from the other thread about AtoA - I think she has to be the most loved "10 minute" character in all of Trek... nearly everyone remembers her.

I wanna know how Tom Paris' character got left on the ship and Lt. Stadi got killed? Just make Paris the shuttle pilot who gets killed during the trip to the DQ and Stadi the Maquis operative with a past that is brought aboard as an observer. That would have been SO cool. I agree that Stadi was more interesting in the few scenes she did than many of the characters have been lately.

You realize, of course, that, if Paris had been killed and Stadi stayed around, you'd be saying the exact same things here, only w/ the names reversed...

People are getting tired of Paris, so they want to bring back a character that was only around for a few minutes. However, if Stadi had been around for five-and-a-half years, people would be getting tired of her for the same reasons, and they would want to bring back the character who had only been around for a few minutes: Paris.

Just my opinion of course, but I'd take a boring Alicia Coppala over a boring Robert MacNeil ANY day of the week and twice on Sunday.

In Caretaker (the pilot of the series) Paris is travaling with Stadi in a shuttle to DS9/Voyager.
Also she was the helms-person [How PC of me... ]

I've only seen a few minutes of that epi but something bothered me. Wasn't Stadi a Betazoid ? She didn't seem like one for what I've seen although the name doesn't sound too much human...

Stadi was indeed a Betazoid (she can be "warm and sensual") and she continued the trend Betazoid women seem to have of being slender, drop dead gorgeous, and having alluring accents...

No Prakesh. She was the originally assigned conn officer in the pilot episode. She and Paris took a shuttle up to Voyager at DS9. She was killed when Voyager was sent to the DQ. Paris took over her job as the conn officer.

A "Bring Back Stadi" campaign? Ideas?
-Maybe Annorax returns, eradicates Tom from the timeline, and Stadi isn't killed in The Caretaker accident for some reason.
-She has a twin sister (maybe an evil one?).
-The Stadi from the parallel universe appears. I wonder if she would be bisexual.
-Every event since "The Caretaker" was only a dream. Janeway wakes up in her chair, and Stadi is at the helm. Wait...we would lose Seven!
-A holographic version of her is created, so Tom is available as a full-time nurse.
Well, Seven needn't be lost. When Janeway wakes up, it turns out that Ensign Hansen is on the ship, and that's why Janeway dreamed "Relativity". :-)

I wouldn't mind the twin, after all we have a guy who was seen in First Contact end up on-screen in Voyager. He must have a twin on the Enterprise-E. As for the Mirror Universe Stadi, why does she have to be bisexual? Why not just be lesbian? Do we really want to risk that Stadi hitting on Harry and Seven at the same time?
