Well, in our penultimate episode, we have Vorik, who basically stands around and looks confused as usual. Some concluding character development there, huh? And he was under consideration for killing-off as much as Carey and Celes? Th' hell?

Anyway, we're talking about Lt. Ayala here. That's right, TALKING. Our boy Ayala actually has more than one throwaway line in this episode. He's got TWO! This doubles his on-screen lines in seven years to FOUR! As many recall, he's only ever said anything in "Basics Pt. II" in the third season, and then three years later in "Fury" (and even then it was in an erased timeline).

And the kicker? Ayala's changed his uniform! He now sports the rosy red of command, and he's even manning the helm this time. What's with that? Has Ayala decided to make a career change after silently performing security duties for seven years? Has being in contact with his kids back home convinced him that being a tactical officer is a dead end job? And what's made him talk so much this time? He's got almost as many lines as Vorik in this episode! What's happening to our Voyager?!
