Not only is there a Gander river in Canada, but the airport for Halifaz is Gander Intrnational. We have had ships with the same names as current airports. Consider the USS Armstrong and the USS Yeager.

Those ships aren't named after airports; they're named after the same things the airports are named after... Besides, all runabout have been and will be named after rivers...

Also, today as I was riding Apollo's Chariot at Busch Gardnes today, where Fabio got hit by a goose, I realized that a male goose is called a gander.
