I just realised something last night while watching 'Til Death Do Us Part.

Jake Sisko, has been a catalyst or at least present at some of the major turning points throughout DS9's history. Theoretically he could be single handedly to be blamed for the Dominion War.

1. It was Jake Sisko's assignment and choice to land on that planet that they did in 'The Jem'Hadar'

2. Jake introduced Sisko to Cassidy Yeats - something the Wormhole Aliens are not happy about.

3. It was Jake that created an alternate timeline where there would have been no Dominion War.

4. It was Jake who lead to the Death of the alternate Jennifer Sisko. It was also Jake who caused Sisko to go to the alternate universe and help build a replica defiant.

5. It was the presence of Jake Sisko that stopped 'The Reckoning' from taking place. Thus the Pagh Wraiths would be no more, thus Jadzia Dax would not have been killed by Gul Dukat.

Any others.

BTW: A post is active almost the instant you push submit. Try this the next time: push submit, wait for just 1 second, push stop on your browser and search for your post. 9 out of 10 times it's posted! I tried it myself a few times, it worked every time.

In reply to number 5, Kai Winn stopped The Reckoning, not Jake.

Yes, but the fact that he was possessed by the Pah-Wraith and might be killed as a result, that could be significant. Who knows what Captain Sisko might have done if the possessee had been anyone but the most important thing in the world to him, his son?
