As far as I can see nothing is missing!

I take it you just saw a rerun of the ep? I'm surprised they didn't cut stuff out for the extra song, credits and commercials.

I didn't see any rerun. I live in The Netherlands. If I want to see the latest, I have to buy the UK import tapes. But I've seen "What you leave behind" in RealVideo format, which I found on the internet.
It was said that the UK tape was cut into 2 seperate episodes, and that there were several minutes missing. Now that I have the UK tape, it seems there is no difference between the USA TV showing and that tape

It isn't there anymore for a long time now.

I have this tape, and it is uncut methinks.

As for my opinion of the conclusion....

$$$$$$$$
Spoilers inevitable
$$$$$$$$

I confess I found it a bit disappointing.

I cringed at every encore destruction of the USS Stock Footage in the battle sequences. More importantly I felt it just didn't gel. The showdown between Dukat and Sisko was lame, stitched on to the end without any sense of epic danger or rivetting drama. At the end of the series was a hell of a time for Avery Brooks to have a relapse into the misPRO...Nounceing affliction of earlier eps.
And where were the dynamic, quotable lines filled with drama that we'd be quoting for months after? All we got was yet more of Dukat's "I will destroyyyy the Alpha Quadrant!" nonsense, and Sisko gurning at him before deciding on a bodytackle. Playing it all out in front of CGI fire on the Planet Hell set didn't help.

On the plus side, it did have some touching moments between Kira and Odo. The Cardassian arc wrapped up nicely mostly due the fine performances from Weyoun/Damar/Female Changeling. It was also nice to see Jake again, for what seems like the first time this season.

But one last gripe - Surely Morn should have got the last word?

I too thought the episode was a bit of a disappointment. I didn't mind the battle scene as much, but that cheesy end where everyone starts having flashbacks to the past few years did piss me off a bit. I would have thought that having built this war up so much since it started, that they could come with a better way to end it.

Quark was brilliant as ever and Odo's departure was well done, but the rest left me feeling a little cheated.

------------------
Worf: He is an overgrown child and she is...confused.

O'Brien: It could still work.

I felt the ending was a rushed too. The way Odo convinces the Female changeling looks a lot like a "Deus Ex Machina" plot resolution. And the whole Paw-Wraiths thing took so long to reach its climax, only to end up in a rather stupid way. I mean, come on!
Dukat and Adami spent about 7 episodes together preparing for their return and it all wraps up in about 5 minutes! Very disapointing...

As for the flashbacks, I think it was a great idea, except for the fact that we didn't see Dax in Worf's (probably because of royalties for Terry Farell). And when Kira and Jake stare out the window on the Promenade with the big zoom out from the station with the original DS9 theme, I actually cried, knowing that I'd never see them again (and I don't believe in a possible DS9 movie one bit). Too me, it still ended up better than TNG (I didn't cry then ).

The only thing I found to be 'wrong' was that the Firecaves scene was cut to pieces, and they put houres worth of space battles and other things in between, while they were in de caves for a very short time. It was especially confusing when Sisko joined Dukat and Adami.
The firecave scene wasn't happening parallel to the rest.

It certainly wasn't one of their best episodes, in the way that "All Good Things..." was a stand-out for TNG. On the other hand, it seems likely that any ending would have been found wanting.

I tend to agree with everyone elses opinions here, though I'd add that I thought the Weyoun/Founder/Damar/Kira/Odo/assorted Cardassian stuff was excellent. I'm not sure if it's just me, but I picked up some very twisted but very real emotions between the Founder and Weyoun. Not friends, per se...more like someone and their favorite pet. Very interesting to watch.

I'm pretty sure the presence of spoilers here is self-evident by the title, so I'll go on to add...

That my above comment is mostly grounded in the way the Founder said "That was Weyoun's last clone."

Someone made an interesting comment over at aus.sf.star-trek - that you can really see how ruthless that female changeling is... or how heartless when Weyoun wishes to offer himself for her... and she said if it were only that easy... now I though that it was a thankyou but its not going to happen - others went the way of "If I could I would in an instant."

interesting.

Well she definately made Cardassia pay for the events in "The Die Is Cast"
