I've noticed while trying desperately to fix ST: Bridge Commander that the voiceovers were done by some of the previous recurring actors like Martha Hackett, Max Gordenchik, John Del Arco, and Patti Yasutake. I find myself wondering why they do it for many games (I know they do get paid for it) like Bridge Commander and Armada 2. I know that Martha said in a ST: Mag interview that she loves playing ST character a lot, perhaps this is one way to do it?

Actually, a lot of games tend to use TV actors in voice-overs. Even when they aren't tie-in games. Perhaps they just feel that if an actor can act on screen, they'd be better able to do realistic voice-acting than some no-name.

Indeed. And the other half of all computer game actors seem to be the Cartoon Network Regulars.
