Cool. Maybe I'll like this film a little better once I've seen the WHOLE thing.
And this probably means our starship info (Talos and Hemingway references) will be available after all.

Talos, probably. Hemmingway, not likely.. Seeing as how the end switched from them waiting to be towed to them already at Earth, there wouldn't be much for the Hemmingway to do.

Well, I got the impression that Baird wanted to include the original ending sequence on the DVD, at least as an alternate cut, if not reworked back into the film itself...

Uh, not, it seems. quote: I'll never cut them back into the movie because I don't think they make it work but I'll show them on the DVD because I think the fans will enjoy them.

Commander Madden! Yay!
I rather like Steven Culp.

So wait, they did film Steven Culp's scene? I was under the impression that that had been excised from the script prior to filming.

quote: From the article: In addition to a director's commentary, storyboards and interviews, Empire Online reported the 'Nemesis' DVD will have a special extended ending of the film. The additional scenes take place after Data's death and feature the incoming Enterprise-E first officer Commander Madden and a new chair for Captain Picard.
So...
Sol: It sounds to me as if, while the other scenes cut from the rest of the film (the ones that were sort of "jokey") would be in a separate deleted scenes section, the expanded ending might actually be re-edited into the main body of the movie. Or maybe not. I'm just interpreting.
Siggie: It would appear that the scene was, indeed, filmed. (Or else I doubt he'd be talking about it being included on the DVD! )

Commander Madden? Since I didn't read spoiler threads before seeing the movie I didn't know about him. I was hoping Worf would become the new XO since I think it's a good reason that he would leave Qo'noS for in his old captain offered him the position with Riker leaving.

Sounds good. When do you think the DVD will be released in North America? *eager already*

Commander Martin Madden, formerly of the U.S.S. Talos transferred aboard the Enterprise as the new XO after the ship had been towed to Spacedock. In the novelization (but not the actual script, IIRC, which said it was a few weeks later) he met Riker briefly as they passed each other in a corridor while he was on his way to the Titan along with Troi, and Riker tacitly approved of the young officer.
Dr. Crusher leaves as well, for a high-position posting to Starfleet Medical.
There's nothing said specifically about what happens to Worf, but it appears that he remains aboard as tactical officer.

I'm glad they deleted that scene. Why would she make the same mistake a second time.
