Pardon me if this has been posted and I missed it, but in listening to NPR today I find it's the 40 anniversary Star Trek: TOS.
Let the games begin.
And don't invite the Gorn...they always leave a big mess.

What is the actual anniversary air-date of Where No Man Has Gone Before? Was 'The Cage' actually filmed in 1964? Was it filmed in colour or black and white and later colourised?

The Cage was filmed in color and black and white. For years they only had the black and white print available. Shortly after they released The Cage on VHS, someone found a color print.
Just a day late and dollar short...

I don't think you can film something in color and B&W, unless you film it twice or film different parts of it different ways. If there was a color original, it must have been filmed in color. Probably, they made B&W copies of it before losing the color one.
That's actually exactly what happened with a number of the early color "Doctor Who" episodes. B&W copies were made to be sent to markets in other countries. When the original color copies were lost/destroyed, those B&W ones were the only versions left floating around.
