That Lunar orbiter - always wondering what it is. At Startrek.com they had a feature detailing each 'scene' in the opening credits... They didn't give any information about the Lunar ship - except that it is above a Lunar colony. They did however supply an address the the company that produced the credits... maybe someone who is good at writing those type of e-mails (like those to Mike Okuda, Greg Jein etc.) can write one to them maybe getting some more details about this ship - maybe an alternate view or views - and even a name!?!
