After some consideration, it was decided that Flare forums should have new descriptions. Moderators will post a thread in their forums for electing a new description. But seeing as where there's no moderator for Enterprise, I'll post the thread. So, let's hear your ideas! Only serious ones, please. [Smile]

There's no moderator at the moment because we lost contact with the former moderator. A new one hasn't been assigned yet.

And along with only serious ideas, ones that are positive about the show, not putting it down if you don't mind. [Wink]

A new one hasn't been assigned "yet" for 3 years?

Posted by Krenim (Member # 22) on :

The previous mod was Ryan McReynolds. Unfortunately, he seems to have vanished from the face of the earth, so the position is once again vacant.

Posted by deadcujo (Member # 13) on :

Well, I'd do it unless others are in mind. I was a moderator at Interplay and other places for a while and I know how to keep you nerdy whippersnappers in line!

Posted by Topher (Member # 71) on :

No one was posting anything serious for the description. So I thought of something. If people want to be serious this time, it can be changed.

Posted by Lee (Member # 393) on :

There were plenty of perfectly decent entries!

Posted by TSN (Member # 31) on :

Every one of my suggestions was serious.

Posted by J (Member # 608) on :

That's perfect... I second "Every one of my suggestions was serious."

Posted by Bond, James Bond (Member # 1127) on :

The current description is about as exciting as John Ashcroft's porn collection.

I thought there were plenty of serious suggestions.

Posted by Balaam Xumucane (Member # 419) on :

"Enterprise: A show out of time."

What? No, that's not a put-down. You know? Like because it's a prequel. With time-travel and stuff. Maybe.

"Look, shut up about the Akiraprise already."

Too negative? Must think positive thoughts about Enterprise...

"Before Kirk. No, but like WAY before Kirk now."

"Time-hoppin', joint-poppin, phaser-lockin' pre-Trek action."

"Going boldly."

"A Trek started forty years* after but set 150 years before the first."
(* about or whatever we've figured it to be this week)

Posted by Topher (Member # 71) on :

None of the previous entries were all that appealing. They seemed to put down the show in some way or other. Also, no one voted for any of them either, so a winner couldn't really be chosen.

Posted by Lee (Member # 393) on :

Well, for a start if you want seomthing po-faced and serious you're browsing the wrong Forums. And why shouldn't we have something that takes the piss out of the show? Wasn't the Voyager Forum motto "They just keep going. . . and going. . . and going. . ." or something like that? And since when were we supposed to vote on the winner? All the other Forums were chosen by the Mod.

Posted by TSN (Member # 31) on :

Well, except, we don't have one of those in this case.

Posted by Futurama IV Shizzle (Member # 968) on :

Whats taking so long with that, by the way?

Posted by Lee (Member # 393) on :

There's nobody trustworthy enough left.

Posted by Fleet-Admiral Michael T. Colorge (Member # 144) on :

Trust is futile...

Posted by Charles Capps (Member # 9) on :

Surely we can come up with something better...

Posted by Lee (Member # 393) on :

Actually, Charles, THAT works quite well as the Enterprise Forum description! 8)

Posted by Bond, James Bond (Member # 1127) on :

"Xindi Vermin, Alien German, and Rick Berman."

"For nearly four years we've waded ankle deep in the ocean of the Enterprise Forum, now its finally time to swim (and we're going to jump that shark if it's the last thing we do! - kidding [Wink] )."

"To boldly go where four other series have gone before."

Posted by Jason Abbadon (Member # 882) on :

"At least the ship doesn't land!"

"A show as ritch nad dark as freshly pumped Duterium."

"The western eisode didn't suck! In your FACE TNG!!"

"Where former castmembers go to die...er...direct!"

Posted by Lee (Member # 393) on :

Bond's first one is quite good. I also like the "jumping the shark" idea although it needs to be shorter and punchier.

Posted by AndrewR (Member # 44) on :

"At least watch season 3".

Posted by Jason Abbadon (Member # 882) on :

"Still better than Voyager!"

"As ratings go down, uniforms get scarce..."

Posted by Bond, James Bond (Member # 1127) on :

I don't get why we're not supposed to poke fun at the show in the description anyway. I would have said something jokingly disparaging about TOS, TNG, and VOY too, but not about DS9, DS9 is God. [Wink]

The point being, it's not just because it's Enterprise that the comments are disparaging.

"For nearly four years we've waded ankle deep in the ocean of space, now its finally time to jump the shark."

Better?

Posted by Futurama IV Shizzle (Member # 968) on :

"Season 4 - it's go time!"

Posted by Veers (Member # 661) on :

What was the DS9 forum's description? (I know that was a long time ago...)

Posted by Cartman (Member # 256) on :

"The Final Chapter has closed" around the time it was merged with General Trek, and before that "As the Final Chapter approaches...", which is proof that whoever came up with those lines had an even smaller sense of humor than me. B)

Posted by Futurama IV Shizzle (Member # 968) on :

humor. right.

Posted by The_Tom (Member # 38) on :

"Fuck Warren Ellis."

Posted by Ultra Manjuice (Member # 239) on :

Absolutely correct.
