Has anyone else heard about the special theater showings for TNG in conjunction with the blu-ray release? They had one for season 1 back in the summer, I figured it was a one-time thing. But now they're doing more. And this time, the episodes are, y'know, good.

(I'm really hoping that if they keep this up, they show "Best of Both Worlds." That would be geektastic.)

Yeah, I saw this too in my theatre. Looks like I'll be watching it by myself though none of my friends are too into Trek

Wow...that is kinda cool...not much in season two to write home about but if it's the enhanced episodes we may see something cool....I'll pass on the awful season opener with Troi's space baby.

It's "Q Who?" and the extended cut of "The Measure of a Man". Two great episodes.

Oh, okay- that makes sense then.
Last night BBC America had an (all day?) TNG marathon- good episodes though, not everything in order, thankfully! Saw The Pegasus for the first time in a few years- loved that episode! The completely phony exchange between Picard and the Romulan captain was wonderful- as was Picard's dressing down of Riker.
You know, it's the occasional dressing down moments that I find have the best acting in both TNG and DS9- Sisko and Picard are so very different characters in how they go about it too...but I'd rather have Picard pissed at me than Sisko!

Anyone else go to see this?
The Borg cube looked spectacular. The extra scenes in "Measure of a Man" were hardly even noticed (as in, I didn't spot one that I thought should have been cut).
The extra scenes they showed were very interesting too. The cast still seems very down-to-earth about the whole thing. Several amusing moments, especially Patrick Stewart and Michael Dorn going at it.
Looking forward to season three. The preview of it had a great story from Stewart, "YOU'VE RUINED OUR SUMMER!!!"

No, they seem to announce the theater date a month or two ahead of the BR release, and the date itself seems to be a week or two before the ship date. The BR release hasn't even been announced yet, right?

Yeah, that's what I'm curious about. Pretty excited to see the extended cut of Measure of a Man - hear there's an interesting Riker/Picard scene.

Sigh. I long for the day when the US recognizes the rest of the world for these sorts of things.

Wait, there's a world other than the US?! What sort of nonsense is this?

There's two worlds- the United States and countries waiting for us to free them in the name of "nation building". Well, assuming they have oil, that is....we leave the rest to the missionaries.

Just found out that my local theatre will be showing this! As soon as I find someone to go with I am buying my ticket.

I watched Q Who at the weekend. I was amazed at how well it held up. I was watching it with a friend who hadn't seen it for about 20 years, and he was genuinely tense throughout. Picard and Q has loads of good lines between them, and the atmosphere of the whole show was stunning.
