Aye, it's still not officially, from Paramount or UPN.. but:
http://www.trektoday.com/news/180504_01.shtml
quote:
UPN has decided to renew Star Trek: Enterprise for a fourth season, the SaveEnterprise.com fan campaign reported today.
The official UPN press presentation of the network's Fall schedule isn't scheduled until Thursday, but a press release from the campaign quoted unnamed production sources as saying the show would definitely be back. The site reported Star Trek executive producer Rick Berman would be flying into New York this week in order to make the official announcement himself.

quote:
Please keep in mind that UPN will not officially announce its Fall schedule until this Thursday, and until then the above should be treated as you would any rumour. Thanks go out to SaveEnterprise.com for this.

"Thanks go out to SaveEnterprise.com for this."

How do you properly thank someone who does such a thing...

tar & feather?
hang them by their toenails?
turn cans of air upside down and unleash the blast on their skin?
remove their fingers via tourniquet?
full body hair removal via flame?

I just don't know... can anyone else think of something proper?

THWACK!

Some of us actually like the show. [Mad]

J: Well, we'll have a talk with the SaveEnterprise people and see if they'll stop tying you to a chair once a week and forcing you to watch the show.

Well said, TSN!

So... how the hell do they continue from this Xindi arc? They can't just go back to exploring, since that is so 2001.

They'd have to really go for this Temporal War now. Probably bringing back the Suliban. We also have the Andorian arc still open, and even Romulan and Klingon arcs.

But first I'd just really like to see some "Family"-type episode. Give those people some rest, refocus on Reed and the minor characters.

I feel the Romulan war should start to rear it's ugly head.

edit: fuck it! No I don't actually! [Smile] It just wouldn't work... unseen enemy etc. They tried that with Space: Above and Beyond.

There's a whole bunch of stories that can come from repairing the ship, lost crew members, the political ramafications of Earth being attacked, and how the Vulcans and Andorians reacted to it.

When the Xindi story arc started, everybody demanded to know how THE EXPANSE could be invented, in a known universe.. it'll probobly go away this or next week. The temporial Cold war might even go poof, with this story arc, or might cool off for decades.. or heat up next season.

WEll, Berman has stated they won't completely wrap up the Xindi arc this season. So they'll churn out a few more episodes dealing with the arc next season. But they certainly won't go back to just exploration.

Didn't a Xindi character mention the Klingons, last episode? It was off-hand enough, to imply more familiarity then with Humans.

On the other tentacle, what are the Xindi going to do when they can't use the Spearbuilder's hyperspace shortcuts?? heh heh.

Posted by B.J. (Member # 858) on :

Spearbuilders?

Posted by TheWoozle (Member # 929) on :

laser Spears, no less, hehe.

Darn, defective keyboards.

Britney's Spheres.

now THAT's what the hard pressed crew of the ENTERPRISE needs.. a USO show.

Invite the Xindi, I bet they woudl love it.. 'cept the bugoids, natch.

No longer a rumor:

However, they are moving it to a 9:00 Friday time slot.

Well, on the plus side, I'm home by 9 [Big Grin]

I don't suppose the Canadian station will still air it on Wednesday...

Posted by Dat (Member # 302) on :

Well, that's a nice way to kill it like NBC did with TOS.

Posted by TheWoozle (Member # 929) on :

I wonder what the ratings where, in the late 60s?? Stargate does wwell, on Friday nights.

It would be funny, if they end-up repeating the episodes on Wednesday Night.

Posted by Captain Boh (Member # 1282) on :

But thats when they'll be showing Reality TV!

Posted by TheWoozle (Member # 929) on :

Some days, I REALLY feel like it's just not worth chewing through the leather straps in the morning.

Posted by Omega (Member # 91) on :

Um... Stargate DOES do well on Friday. And it'll continue to do well. Against Enterprise.

Posted by Captain Boh (Member # 1282) on :

I take it Stargate is on at 9?

Well duh! You oubliette them, of course!! New favorite verb!!!

Posted by J (Member # 608) on :

Well.. I guess I'll never see Enterprise again on it's first run. I got JAG and Stargate [maybe Atlantis during the summer I haven't figured out the summer schedule yet] at 9 on Fridays. I record JAG and then wait for the PST rerun for stuff on Sci-fi.

Fridays is how FOX killed Firefly. Also, Veronica Mars isn't what you think.

UPN exists in a whole alternate ratings universe, though, where up is down and everyone travels around via steam-car. Pulling in some sizable segment of the shut-in audience might be fairly lucrative for them in a way it wouldn't be for networks run by grown-ups.

By "grown ups", you mean, "idiots pandering to the very lowest common denomenator"?

"Reality TV" is just....sick.

Fuck.....I love P.B.S. more each year.

One hundred years from now, when the poles have melted and human civilization has been reduced to a handful of scattered and technologically regressed tribes, historians will sit around campfires discussing where it all went south, and they will unanimously mark reality TV as the societal excrement most directly to blame for its downfall. And then they will ravage each other with sticks and stones for ever letting things slide that far. And then roaches will inherit the Earth.

Posted by TheWoozle (Member # 929) on :

Hey.. that would make a great Reality TV show.

Posted by Dat (Member # 302) on :

Hush, you.

No, no, then the Flareites will rule like kings, like kings I tell you!

I never quite got why he had a grave if he was taken to Avalon by the seven sisters...

"Here lies Trekdom"?

Posted by Harry (Member # 265) on :

Poetic license. Trekdom will never get laid.

Posted by Cartman (Member # 256) on :

Well, some of its citizenship certainly won't. B)

"I never quite got why he had a grave if he was taken to Avalon by the seven sisters..."

Different versions of the legend, presumably. Wasn't the whole Avalon thing Malory's idea?

Before or after he invented transdimensional Sliding?

Oh ho ho!

IT WAS BEFORE HE HUNG AROUND SOME OLD PROFESSOR TOO MUCH AND LEARNED TO FLY HIGH WITH AEROSOLS.

"Mallory".

Quiet, you.

Posted by TheWoozle (Member # 929) on :

Didn't Quinn become a grizzled old police Pathologist, later in his life.. in a quirky off-Hollywood dimension?

Posted by Lee (Member # 393) on :

Well, if we take the two versions of Quinn we saw in Sliders as Quinn A and Quinn B, I suppose a third version would be *drum roll* Quinn C. . .
