Over at Ebay, they're selling of star trek props from "It's a wrap". Ive been monitoring this looking for starship props and so on and every now and then a little gem pops up Excelsior study model
It's not a model I've seen before, and I try to keep up. Basically it looks like an excelsior with the nacelles mounted further towards the saucer.

The nacelles look to be mounted lower as well... Almost as if it was intended to look like the pylons come out straight but there's no vertical portion at the ends. Hm.

To me it looks like the pylons extend upwards at an angle and the nacelles are mounted below them. It's also got the little wings on the secondary hull that were added back for the E-B.

Well that's one way to ruin a perfectly decent model kit.
I know the kitbashes weren't finished to a high degree since they were often in the back of shot, but since this one isn't even painted, I wonder if it was ever shown on screen?
Nice to see the auctions turning up something new again. The fact that there are these occasional gems makes it easier to stomach that they're selling virtually everything off.

I want to know who the hell wants to spend $150+ on this piece of garbage... at the very least, you could just buy the same AMT kit that the item was built from and do it yourself!

Drexler did tell me that other people built more kitbashes for the DS9 season opener than were depicted in the DS9 tech manual. He only sent me what he had photos of. So this could very well have been one of those ships, since it looks like it was mounted for filming.

The photos are at ex-astris-scientia.org, under the essay about the DS9 kitbashes.

I'm rather glad that this was never really seen. That means we can ignore it as a peyote flash.

This excelsior looks like it is a refit-excelsior right? The ones we've seen so far, haven't they been original excelsiors?
