If you've got the DS9 Compendium it shows that Jim Martin's original idea for the Defiant was that it was a rejected Bajoran ship idea he had... it then later became the Defiant!<P>Of course... Jim Martin could have been looking through some of Matt's old drawings for some ideas...<P>Of course we've got the Daedelus class from Matt's old drawings.<P>I think they got their idea for some other classes like the Miranda and the Oberth from Matt's old drawings...<P>If you look through there are a few with Saucer on top of nacelles with a dangling 'engineering section'. The nacelles are long TOSeque nacelles though... maybe a prefrefit Oberth!?!<P>Someone should try and put together a page of all of Matt's old drawings so we can see some older designs from the TOS era (cause really they could have been made if there was a necessity for it - It gives you an idea of other Jefferies-type designs.)<P>Every item (art of... etc) that releases Matt Jefferies' old drawings seem to include some new ones.<P>Two sources I know include the TOS Sketch Book and the Art of Star Trek...<P>Now there are the Magazine pictures...<P>Where has Bernd got all these pics??<P>Andrew<P>------------------<BR>"I threw bitter tears at the ocean<BR> But all that came back was the tide..."
