Dose anyone have access to a script or a recording of the old TOS episode "The Man Trap" (that's the one with the salt vampire for those who don't know). I caught a bit of it this morning while flicking through and spotted an interesting bit of dialogue. Basically Uhura says that they're getting a transmission from the Starship Something-or-other, apparently the Captain wants some Mexican peppers. The pain is that I didn't quite catch the ship's name. I check the encyclopedia, did a search through our old threads and found no entry about a ship assosiated with that episode. have I spotted something new, or have I missed something?

I remember the chilli pepper reference (I think they were prime Mexican Reds) and Kirk commented that he'd picked them himself. They were for Jose, but I think there were going to a starbase. I may be mistaken though, since it's been a while since I saw that episode. [ July 29, 2002, 12:23: Message edited by: capt ussintrepid ]

The Mexican pepper was for Dominguez, commander of the Corinth IV starship base.

Sure? I think it sounded more like 'Cyrin IV'.

Are you speaking about the German dubbing? Because, you know that it isn't very trustworthy. They made the Intrepid to Independence and Amanda became Emily.

Do you have a problem with your eyes, Cadet?

Yes, I do. I guess then I have to believe it, Corinth IV.
(Not to mention Eugenic Wars in 1996 became 2096, Gary Seven/Felix Sevenrock and a hundret other things, of course. )

Ah, I knew I heard Starship in there somewhere. Strange that, I could have sworn the name of the place began with an 'A'. On the other hand I was only half listening to it.

Argh, I didn't think about Enterprise-crewmembers.
Any Jose after TOS? I don't think there has been any Jose in the 24th century.

According to Trimble's Concordance: "Dominguez, Commander Jose: The commander in charge of the starbase on Corinth IV, who sends Kirk some hand-picked prime Mexican chili peppers."

Kirk was to send Dominguez the peppers. He contacted the ship after Kirk had decided to stay at M-113 and wanted to know when Kirk brings the chili. Kirk said something like 'He wont die if he gets the chili some days later'.

From the Encyclopedia-2:
Corinth IV. Planet on which was located a Starfleet facility. When the Enterprise was delayed at planet M-113, the Starship Base on Corinth IV requested an explanation. ("The Man Trap" [TOS]).
