I don't know if this has been mentioned before, but did anybody notice that in the final scene of Insurrection where the E-E flys off into the distance she is missing the captains yacht.

You are right!!

Maybe the Yacht is in the shuttlebay or something. It was damaged, so they may want to put it there to repair it.

Cool! They paid attention to detail!
Altair's theory sounds correct.

Well, the Encyclopedia lists the Yacht as destroyed, I believe

I concur with 359. I believe the new enc. says the Cousteau (that's her name) was destroyed. I'll have to take another look at the tape though. That's pretty cool.

If it is destroyed why did Data had no damage at all??

btw: I thought that someone said that the Yacht made a save landing.

There was so many scenes cut from Insurrection - I wish they'd release a version with a lot put back in.

It was destroyed??? *wonders what he was doing when watching the movie*
*Embarassed about making a fool of himself* Well, what happened to it? All I can remember is Picard and Data going to the planet with the Yacht. Were they attacked?

-Doctor: I mean, you won't get what you're after!

Naaah, I doubt it was destroyed. It may have landed bumpily after it got shot in the finale, but Data's lack of injury and the lack of emphasis on the yacht's forced withdrawl imply it just limped down to the planet again. the idea of it being in the shuttlebay to be fixed up is the one I'll go with.

I'd like to see what all was cut from this movie. Maybe I'd like it better.

I know they cut two kissing scenes with Picard and Anij. God knows why, though.

Wouldn't the Captain's Yacht be a rather tight fit for either of the shuttlebays? I'm not convinced it was destroyed either. Maybe Picard left it with Anij as something for her to remember him by

I wish they'd put the librarian scene back in. Supposedly they were afraid of complaints from real librarians about stereotypes or some such BS. Well, I'm a librarian, and I want it! *L*

They cut the warp core ejection scene just before they finished the movie. I'd love to see that!

Supposedly there was also a scene with Quark, that they cut also.

I got to see a bit of the "librarian" scene. It really WAS a ridiculously stereotypical portrayal. The only thing missing was horn-rimmed glasses... I think.

As another librarian, I just want to say "ECCH."

They did have the ejection scene and cut it? They cut so many scenes that the movie is only 1 1/2 hour, this is a thing I will never understand. And the ejection scene is the one I miss most of all. And the dialogue (something like "already done") in this scene does the rest to take away all the thrill.

John Eaves about the warp core ejection scene:
"The shot was out yesterday, it's back in today. Who knows where it will go from here?"

Well, we know the result.

There several more of these things in the book 'The secrets of Star Trek Insurrection'.
Like this one: The Son'a command ship was meant the fly the opposite way.
John Eaves:
"(...) I drew it to fly with the forks forward (...) but Peter Lauritson liked it going the other way. He thought that gave it a more sinister look."

It really $hits me how they changed the direction of the flagship The battleships fly with the forks forward so the flagship should too. It was the way it was meant to be, let alone consistency. It would have looked more sinister, too. *sigh*

Um guys, the battleships have the forks on the outside of the arc, which happens to be the front of the ship. Have a look at this scale chart from Eaves Son'a and Ent-E. Only Ru'afo's ship was turned around in the movie.

There was supposed to be a 'cropped-together-paper-ball' (I don't know the proper English word) fight in the movie between Riker and Troi. The librarian would make a stereotype "be silent" type remark.

These are the missing scenes as I remember:

-Librarian Scene: Riker and Troi get into a crumpled paper ball fight in the library, and the "librarian" tells them to "shhh".

-Quark: Quark arrives on the Ent-E with Worf, only to be seen again at the end of the movie commenting on how much proffit the Bak'u homeworld can generate.

-Young Ru'afo: Ru'afo was supposed to fly into the rings directly making him younger and younger and more able to fight Picard in an alternate ending.

What else is there if any?

The Cousteau was destoyed, Data crashed it on the Bak'u homeworld after attacking Ruaflo's ship (making them reset thier shield harmonics). I dont have Enyc III, but I've heard that it is mentioned destoyed.

To add to the list of missing scenes:

1)Data shoves a bunch of Son'a off a cliff, then grabs one of the drones and makes it shoot its tags to the falling soldiers, thereby saving them. I bet the stuntmen were thrilled to hear their 20-meter fall wouldn't be part of the final edit...

2)Data crushes a drone with bare hands.

Pics of both these scenes are available in the "Secrets of ST:Insurrection" book. The novelization is of course full of other brief scenes we never get to see, but most of those probably weren't even filmed.
