I just saw a rerun of "11001001". In the scene where Picard and Riker are at the science stations and downloading all the information to the Bynaus computer, some data is shown on the screen. This data is in the form of symbols identical to Borg script! Or, should I say, Borg script is identical to Bynar?------------------ Chris's Home Page The Psi Corps is your friend. Trust the Corps.

Eh... Are you sure? That would be a very strange thing, if it's true...------------------ "The Earl of Sandwich invented the sandwich. Samuel Morse invented the Morse Code. Plato invented the plate." -Holly, Red Dwarf: "Parallel Universe"

Actually, I've seen fonts floating around the internet for both the Binar and the Borg language. They don't really look all that similar from what I remember. It's been a while since I've seen the episode, though. Maybe the scenery department screwed up. Had the Borg language ever been seen yet at this point? ------------------ "A gathering of Angels appeared above my head. They sang to me this song of hope, and this is what they said..." -Styx

"11001001" was first season. "Q Who?" was second season. Bynar was seen first. Frank's going to make some screencaps on Saturday. *poke poke* Right, Frank? It would be interesting to try and figure it out. Perhaps the Borg assimilated some Bynars early on and found that their writtin language was very efficient and decided to use it? ------------------ Chris's Home Page The Psi Corps is your friend. The only resemblance between that and Borg is that they are both made up of circles. They are definitely not the same.------------------ "The Earl of Sandwich invented the sandwich. Samuel Morse invented the Morse Code. Plato invented the plate." -Holly, Red Dwarf: "Parallel Universe"

To a non-human, I'm quite certain that most Western/Weatern-Asian alpabets would look similar. I mean, how many of us think Chinese and Japanese look similar at an initial glance?

I'm not sure thats the best example. As I recall, Japanese uses three character sets, one being the most formal and the oldest, a less formal set, and a very informal set which also is the most current. Each less formal set is partially derived from the more formal set. As I recall the most formal set is related to the Chinese character set in some historical way. ------------------ No I'm Spartacus!

Pick two other languages! The point is, they may look similar, but they're not, when it's something you're used to.
