Ok... I've been wondering about this for while and can't remember if we've talked about it before (FC was so long ago). When the Starfleet guys are roaming the ship fighting the Borg, there's a scene where some guys open a door and the room is dark inside. Then, all the red beams from the Borg inside come on and start tracking all around the room. Wasn't that cool?

Anyway, when they open the door, you can just barely make out what the door sign says. However, I don't have the wide screen so I can't see the whole thing. Whatever it is, it doesn't appear to make any sense. Did anyone catch that signage?

Also, did we ever decide what the room with the railing in it was where Picard and Lily were talking about how much the Enterprise costs and how many memebers there are in the Federation?

I'm working from memory here, but I think that the room they were going into was Stellar Cartography.

I have no idea what that hallway with the middle barriers/pipes was supposed to be for.

I always guessed the hallway with the piping was just a circular corridor going around the computer core or something, since I seem to remember the inside wall of the circle being vertical instead of slanted like all the normal hallways.

Funny, soon as I saw this thread title I thought it might make mention of the room with the pipes/railings. 8)

As for the big room, I thought the door-label either said it was a shuttlebay, or auxiliary control room, or something? OK, hard to confuse one with the other, but my imperfect memory right now is telling me it was some sort of important room. *shrug*

Maybe the room they were walking in with all of the pipes housed the subspace-quantum-micro-particle rectifier or the molecular phase inducer manifolds?

Personally, I always thought they were in the checkout lanes in the ship's stores. [Smile]

It's so funny that I just watched First Contact for the 121th time just now and I know what it said on the door. It was barely visible but it says "MIS Auxillary" and the rest was blocked off by the guy with that device that opened the door.

Don't forget to press the steam vent buttons. If you see a seven-fingered clawed hand pop out from the pipes, leave the cat as bait and run!

On a tour of the ship...

Ensign Jack Burton: "What is THAT?"
Master Chief Egg Shen: "Black blood of the ship..."
Burton: "You mean oil?"
Shen: "I mean black blood of the ship!"

The computer core corridor makes sense.

What does MIS in "MIS Auxillary" stand for? Anyone? Anyone? Anyone know?

Sorry, I watched Ferris Bueller yesterday...

Posted by Shik (Member # 343) on :

The same thing that MIS stands for today, methinks.

Mostly Irreplacable Stuff?

Marooned Interstellar Soldiers?

Miniature Islamic Suicide-bombs?

What does MIS stand for?

I think it's Management Information Services...but that might've been the name from 1987. I think it's changed slightly.

Wasn't Raphael crude, rather than rude?

Well, I'd say he was both, really. But what word they actually used, I don't know.

Matter Injection System?

Naahhh.... Too easy...

Shik Johnson is right! It's Management Information Services, or possibly Systems.

Hey, the door numbers start with the decks right? If so, the deck is on 1x.
