[Side note - I'm almost done my master's degree! Which means that I'm actually gonna siddown and resume the "You're the Admiral!" threads as a solution to rerun hell. It's a matter of weeks, folks!]
And yes, I'd like this on the Tech forum, such that we can discuss the lousy merits of starship design.
Ten nacelles. Twenty-six torpedo tubes. Weapons that could vaporize a planet in a flash, and still have room to take on the entire Borg armada. Fandom is replete with hideously ungainly designs like these, made by any Tom, Chakotay or Harry with a schematic and Photoshop. They're everywhere, they're awful, and we complain about them all the time.
Let's see the worst of the lot. And the reasons WHY you think it's awful.

Barring the USS Pamela Anderson & any design that's simply a ship with a few added parts, I'd have t'say my vote goes for this fucking monstrosity right here. Of course, there's also this piece of shit & uh...oh, yeah.

BWC! LOL! Love it! LOL!
You know you could make it a refit - and have Fourty Nacelles - like that first ship posted with a little nacelle on top of each big nacelle! LOL!
It looks like a Borg Transwarp Hub.

The newst out of Starfleet! This baybee has 46 nacelles all powered by 1 micro 2 millocochrane warp core! She has a top speed of Warp 56.9990999999! She has 67 torpedoe tubes! This ship is the latest, most advanced! The CUP OF DENTIST CLASS!(Man I love Paint!)
PS: Andrew, you think too small. Make it 66. Two micro warp nacelles for each one and 3 for the top 2!

Uh... I really really really really really hate a good portion of the RPG ships, usually those with super weapons, "kitbashes" of real ships, or those from FASA and LUG [or is it LUC? Last of the Unicorns something is all I know].

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that that third ship Shik posted actually looks reasonable, if it were from, say, the twenty-sixth century or something. Seriously, if something like that showed up actually onscreen, and it were supposed to be from somewhere between the TNG era and the Relativity era, I wouldn't have a problem w/ it. Aside from the fact that the side of the saucer looks like an Akira...

This could go on forever, there are literally thousands of lazy, unimaginative and downright silly fan designs out there. For me though, the worst ones are those that consist of 3 pages of in-depth technical details, a single low resolution pencil sketch of the ship with a ridiculously elaborate name and an equally elaborate registry number.
What would be interesting, I think is a discussion about which is the BEST fan designed starship you've ever seen?

The best fan designs IMO are those at The Starfleet Museum and also the Akula/Akyazi/Arbiter Perimeter Action vessels.

Harry's first pic - the top view looks like someone his holding their legs together while they are busting to go to the toilet.
The Third ship top view looks like it has a pair of saggy breasts!

Any kind of kitbash that has parts from different eras. I really do not feel like looking through the millions of schematics at shipschematics.net right now. But half of them over there are like that.
That multi-nacelle Galaxy class isn't all that bad, not good, but damn funny looking.
