I think the two pics of the Enterprise are two different toys, because one toy looks very nice, while the other looks like complete shit.

The Narada looks nothing like an "Octopus" as originally described. I'd say it looks pretty similar to the Romulan attack drones seen in Enterprise. The Enterprise (first picture at least), looks quite nice.

The Narada looks like it's going to make a rather pointy, dangerous toy, doesn't it? In the wrong hands it'd become a mace.
The first Enterprise does look like a good quality model and I like it over all, but the secondary hull and the nacelle pylons still annoy me.
Oh and there's all sorts of other stuff. The bridge, transporter room communicator, etc.

pic 3? looks like something that would hurt if i tried to [i]pass[i] it.

I wonder if the second pic of the Big-E isn't some sort of prototype. That could explain the poor quality.

The Narada is straight out of 1970s anime.. it's a bloated Zentran ship. Hell, it looks nearly exactly like a Zentran command carrier.

Damn those nacelles look like shit.
I think I know what's so wrong about the ship- the design, font, bridge allhave this awful 1970's look about them. Like they were things left over from Phase II.

Wow . . . the lower-right image on the box of Narada actually fits if you consider a lineage with the Romulan drone-ship from Enterprise.

Of course it also fits a lineage with a locust, so take that as you will.

I'm of the opinion that although the ship is commanded by Romulans, it actually belongs to some other species. I'll probably end up wrong or half-right though.

Wasn't that a re-used CGI model from some other episode though?
Somehow I doubt that the art dept guys from the new movie took anything from Enterprise into account when designing the look of the ships or sets: moreso the pity.

Yeah, it originated in the Voyager episode "The Fight".

Actually I recall in an interview, Orci states that he hadn't got around to seeing Enterprise or Nemesis. I don't know of that extends to the art department. Yet, John Eaves is involved and he worked on Enterprise.
