There's a fascinating tidbit in there. Doug found some camcorder footage that Gary Hutzel made when he brought in the <i>Reliant</i> model for use in "Unnatural Selection." This was the first time that the model was used since it appeared as the USS <i>Saratoga</i> in Star Trek IV.<br /><br />There's always been some controversy about the <i>Saratoga</i>'s registry number. It can <em>almost</em> be made out as the probe passes by. The Encyclopedia said that it was NCC-1937, but most other sources say NCC-1867. A few say NCC-1967.<br /><br />It turns out they're <b>ALL WRONG</b>!<br /><br />This video shows the model marked as the <i>Saratoga</i>, and around the 1:50 mark, you can clearly see the registry is NCC-1887. Maybe they felt from that vantage point, no one would notice it not being lit.
