For 17 years (over half my lifetime now) I've contributed and lurked on this forum. In recent years, it just seems to be emptier and emptier of new content. Flare isn't dead, but I'm almost certain a lot of us have moved on in life.
However, with Star Trek's revival in film and a new show coming out in 4 months, the itch to discuss things like whether or not the USS Discovery will have saucer sep and what deck engineering is on is going to start scratching my brain. I'll always check Flare for new discussions, but I was wondering if any of you had other communities you take part of for similar discussions?
Right now I tend to keep to the Daystrom Institute subreddit (reddit.com/r/daystrominstitute) but even then, threads there don't get nearly as in-depth as we got here.
Sorry if this is a taboo subject!

It's a different time. The 90s were full of Trek. We had movies, TNG, DS9 and Voyager.
In 7 years we've had 3 movies. I've read about a new series coming out.
DS9 was perfect for a guy making a website about Federation starships. Now there's nothing really to add.
Also, I think Facebook and other social media has something to do with it.
