Stay with me folks, there's a lot here.First the Ship description that first described the Semi-Autonomous Remotely-Piloted Vehicle (SARPEV): http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Shire/8641/Shrike.htm . Next, the VLV article that fleshed out the SARPEV: http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Shire/8641/VLV2.htm A Pic of the "Mark I": And a link to the SARPEV write-ups: http://www.geocities.com/Area51/Shire/8641/SARPEV.htm . In addition to the Four "known" types of SARPEV (The Mark I, The Mark II, The SARPEV/SO, and the SARPEVSO2), there are two manned vessels. They are: The civilian Shuttlepod, A 24th-century version of the Jeep, And the Shuttle GT, a Ferrari equivalent (or is it closer to an MG-TC?) Not bad for such a humble little vehicle, eh? --Baloo ------------------ The hyperhamster is alive and well.

I like the torpedo idea, but I don't like how the struts are so thin. How do you get clear backgrounds?

Well, in Paint Shop Pro 5.0, you make the background a color that fills every space you don't want to show (and doesn't fill any space you do want to show ). Then you reduce the colors to 256, select the "invisible color as the "background" (BG) color, and tell the program to make the BG color transparent. Then you save the pic as a GIF.I understand that the portable network graphics (PNG) format can also have "transparent" colors, but since almost no-one can view PNG except in the latest generation of browsers, I haven't worked with it much. I also understand that some hosting services don't recognize the PNG standard, yet, and will not let you upload PNG files. --Baloo ------------------ The hyperhamster is alive and well.

Most importantly, there's no reason to use PNG unless you have line art with more than 256 colors...------------------ http://frankg.dgne.com/ Wildrider: "These guys better have some energon for us!" Dead End: "Or what?" Wildrider: "Or...I'll think of something!"

The spindly nacelle struts on the enhanced quantum torpedo (EQT) are that way for a purpose. They are hollow, and act as plasma conduits for the nacelle power. Once. Since the EQT is a one-use vessel, the booster section's parts are designed to last at least as long as the torpedo is underway. Once it explodes, whether it had enough remaining service life to do it again is rather meaningless. Why overbuild something that's going to be destroyed in a radioactive fireball seconds after launch?
