Here's my interpretation of Starfleet Uniforms Please don't start too many arguments at once. I know there are no Starfleet Grand Admirals, but this is my interpretation. You can see the division colors are a little different and there's more of them. Also, I invented my own communicator badge. I'll try to create a bigger version, if anyone wants me to post it. I hope you enjoy this. ------------------ "Just who the hell do you think you are?!" -Stewie

Okay, this meets my approval, mostly. ------------------ http://frankg.dgne.com/ Walter Barnett: "D-Did that thing just shatter an overpass into dust?" Donny Finkleberg: "No, I...I think it was an entrance ramp." [This message was edited by The Shadow on May 06, 1999.]

I do find one slight problem. Are all of the officers in your Starfleet of flag rank? I don't see a line officers uniform there.------------------ "Angels and Ministers of Grace, defend us" -Hamlet, Act I, Scene IV

A line officer is anyone with a rank from Ensign to Captain.I did complain about Grand Admiral...it sounds like a position, though, not a rank, although it thus shouldn't have a separate insignia. ------------------ http://frankg.dgne.com/ Walter Barnett: "D-Did that thing just shatter an overpass into dust?" Frank: Erm... I guess you typed it so quietly, I missed it... *looks at his post again* Nope, still not there... :-)Oh, and, if I had to guess, I'd say he probably put "enlisted officer" where he meant both commissioned officers, and noncoms. ------------------ "Why don't you go out and cross the boulevard while the lights are against you?" -Groucho Marx to Chico Marx, Animal Crackers

I talked to him about it over ICQ. The system he had before was pretty bad. ------------------ http://frankg.dgne.com/ Walter Barnett: "D-Did that thing just shatter an overpass into dust?" Donny Finkleberg: "No, I...I think it was an entrance ramp."

Not bad. I only wonder why Starfleet would make such efforts to distinguish admiral ranks. They are rare, and anyway, many admirals seem to choose their uniform styles as they like, e.g. the old TNG uniforms.------------------ I'm a doctor, not a bricklayer. Well he has the Commodore rank (with what would be the correct insignia if it does indeed exist) which is enough to get a thumbs up from me.

I've always been a fan of the original series movie uniforms (Star Trek: II - IV) and Voyager's uniforms. I'd like see an uniform that's a variation of both.BTW, one pip with a box around it is a one star admiral, two pips with box a two star admiral, etc. Hobbes 9905.29

The enclypedia entry on admiral insignia's was an obvious attempt to at least show something, even though they aren't really sure how the system works and have contradicted themselves several times concerning admiral ranks (three star fleet admirals, four star rear admirals). The way they presented admirals in the enclyclopedia was vague enough not to really contradict anything. An admiral with two pips is indeed a two star admiral whether the offical title is Rear Admiral or whatever. Also it does still leave it open for the possiblity that rank of Commodore still existing (it is essentially a one star admiral- and a much better title than the idiotic Rear Admiral (Lower Half) now used by the American Navy.
