I'm trying to visualize this. It looks very different, though I see some qualities similar to the Hope class and possibley the Prometheus (pointed saucer).
Don't get me wrong, I like the overall design.
What is the purpose of the giant deflector dish, though? Seems quite out of place protruding outward like that and all.

The deflector is not as big as that whole thing, there are weapon launchers and fighter bays in there, as well as some nifty shield generators.

AYE! I never thought about that. That would actually be a pretty cool fighter carrier design, as that large bulge could serve as a ingress/egress for the fighters. That would be pretty...umm, nifty.
