They look a bit like RW's

They are RW's, but they seem to have been altered. I remember RW posted the ships on a white background.

I was curious and looked them up on his site:

Notice the slight modfications?

Thanks, It's just I saw them being offered to someone who was not RW (I think) to someone who is creating a Trek game ... I was wondering if RW was ok with this.

Looks pretty darned similar to me..

Far too close to be a coincidence. Even an infinite number of monkeys at an infinite number of computers couldn't do that.

RW I found irksome, but nobody should be allowed to swipe his ships.

Find the source. Identify. Classify and clarify.
10 Set X$ = $RW
20 Get Y$
30 If Y$ = X$ then goto 60
40 Else Goto 50
50 Run Program = die scurvy dog
60 End

#include <iostream.h>

int main(void) {
  string x="RW";
  string y=PosterName();
  if {y==x) {

  else {
    DieScurvyDog();
  }
  return(0);
}

This is Rob Caves model of RW's ship (he used RW's pix as textures). Rob credited RW when he first posted them at Scifi-art.

Curiosity, gents: what languages are you using?

First: looks like Assembly or something suchlike.
Frank: either C or Fortran?

First of Two is using Basic. I'm using C++, although no C++ specific code besides #include <iostream.h> instead of #include <stdio.h>.

And my BASIC's a bit rusty, so probably what I posted wouldn't work, anyway.

OKay, what we have here is a permitted re-doing of an artist's design, with very little modification done and credit justly given...

But was credit given by whoever has those pictures now, and was offering them for use?

Some people just might be a bit annoyed at that. F'rinstance, if I had permission to use the Sentinel, but gave a modified version to someone else to use, I'd think that was bad, and I'd think the designer would think so too.

Not saying that's what's happened. It's also possible somebody ripped the modified versions off and is presenting them as his own work, OR...

This could all be being done on the up-and-up, and RW knows.

Place yer bets...

Thanks boys.
I was programming in C in my first year, and the old "hash-include" never failed to raise a titter. Which reminds me...oh yeah, that's the one.

I was subjected to six sessions of Fortran77 in second year, which I despise to this day. I honestly prefered writing in machine code.

And this year, they're upping the ante to Visual Basic. Yipee! Roll on the swivel chairs!

*Looks @ Bernd's links for the first time*
OH COME ON! They're RW's, no question -- the modifications are so measly it's laughable -- oh oh look they're rotated 90 degrees => they're mine.

I dearly hope RW is fully aware of this. I've a felling he is, despite my rant. How about telling us, RW? Eh? Eh? Ah go on. You will.

As was said already, these are 3D meshes based on RW's ships, with credit given. I am sure that Rob Caves got permission...unless he was DrBob... *shrug*
