This is how I spend my lunch hour at work... first we have a semi-sloppy sketch of a wide variety of characters, all of which I just invented on the spot. http://www.geocities.com/ryanmcreynolds/images/Friends.gif Next, the unfortunate result of turning one's back on a velociraptor... http://www.geocities.com/ryanmcreynolds/images/Oops.gif Arm wrestling, anyone? http://www.geocities.com/ryanmcreynolds/images/Bionics.gif This last one is sorta interesting. My girlfriend asked me what she'd look like as a comic book character, since I draw them all the time, and this is what I came up with. That's her head and face, though the body's proportions have been SLIGHTLY altered, seeing as no comic book woman remotely resembles one in real life. :-) http://www.geocities.com/ryanmcreynolds/images/Bad%20Girl.gif ------------------ -=Ryan McReynolds=- [This message has been edited by Ryan McReynolds (edited June 07, 2000).]

Bad 20% Girl would be an awesome comic title, by the way.Nice work. ------------------ "While it is true that 15% of home accidents are caused by large penis related incidents, only a small number have ever been known to be fatal." **** Read chapter one of "Dirk Tungsten in...The Disappearing Planet"!

You have a very nice sketchy, conceptual style. The first one I like inparticular. One thing that strikes me that you may need to work on though, are your hands. Hands and fingers are the toughest things to nail, even more so than faces. I still have problems with them, everybody does. Yes, I'm impressed... I couldn't draw people if you gave be a billion dollars worth of drafting equipment and held a gun to my head. ------------------ "Nobody knows this, but I'm scared all the time... of what I might do, if I ever let go." -- Michael Garibaldi

Thanks, everyone, for the comments. For what it's worth, none of these drawings took me longer than five minutes to complete... I have a standing bet with my friends that I can draw a recognizable picture of virtually anything in under 30 seconds. Haven't lost yet. Naturally, the quality improves when I spend a few hours. =)Bernd: I've never gotten around to mentioning my art before... no particular reason. I generally draw a good three to five pages worth of sketches every day. I've got tons of this sort of thing, but most of it isn't with me here, so if I scan more it'll probably be fresh work. Aban: hands are definitely my weak point, at least in my opinion. I get them right once out of ten times, which is sad given that I've been drawing comic-style characters in one form or another for over a decade. =) ------------------ -=Ryan McReynolds=-
