Well folks, I got my hands on Terragen. And it's a really nifty program. I've started making pretty cool scenes in this. Here are my first tries, when I barely understood how to use the program:Terrain 1 Terrain 2 Terrain 3 Regrettably, I managed to create two scenes that, when I went to render them, the program froze (this is understandable, considering it hasn't been released as of yet) However, once I figured out how to use everything, I created a world that should prove very useful for creating many scenes. Here's the first scene: Scene 1 This scene took my PC, a Celeron 500 with 64 MB RAM 49 minutes 52 seconds to render. It contains 676723 quadrilaterals. Pretty sweet, eh? ------------------ [an error occured while processing this directive]

Hmm.. that 3D landscape program appears to do the exact same stuff as Bryce 3D, except a little more realistic textures. What else can it do? With Bryce you can make 3D animations, nature and city landscapes and...well really that's mostly about it. I have it on my comp and never use it, I really out to get back into it. ------------------ Sisko: "We run alright, run right at them." Smiley: "Ah, Pattern Suicide." Well, Terragen is only in the deveolpment stages. The version I have is 0.8. It can only make land, sky, and water so far. I hear they're going to be putting trees in it or something. I don't know aobut cityscapes though.------------------ The Juno Sci-Fi Messageboard

Very cool. I can't wait till they give the software the ability to plant trees, shrubs, and, dare we hope, buildings. It would be really cool to use Terragen to make a pretty little value, import some BattleTech Mechs or Starfleet structures!Good work Chris. -Lance ------------------ TheTrekker's Officer's Bible: A Concise Review of the Starfleet http://thetrekker.homestead.com
