Semi-interesting fact: I used Lunar Cell to make those planets.. the same plugin Mandel used for the Star Charts. It's a fun plug-in.

Hmm it looks like we have the same Corel Draw;)
Nice!

Cool logos, Harry!
What program(s) is/are Lunar Cell compatible with?

Very nice work Harry!
What font did you use for that news logo, was it one of the Battlestar Galactica ones?
Nice work on the Starbase logo, is there a particular reason why you chose to use dark blue instead of the traditional red, some form of Beta Quadrant colour coding?
I wouldn't mind getting my hands on that plugin either, where did you get it? Is it compatible with PSP7?

Awesome work!! What program do you use? Your work looks totally professional.

Lunar Cell (and other plugins) are available at http://www.flamingpear.com/. You can download free demos or buy the whole thing. These plugins can be used in Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro. And it's really ridiculously easy to draw planets with this
Well spotted on that font.. yes it's from Battlestar Galactica. It's "Battlestar".
The reason for dark blue instead of bright red? It looked better But I think you can rationalize it with either Starbase 53 being something special or with the sector being in the BQ, like you suggested.
Sarvek: The planets were made in Photoshop with the Lunar Cell plugin, the rest is in CorelDRAW 10.

Downloading right now...

Sweet! And they've got plugins for OS X...

Wow, this program's brilliant.

Yes.

Nice work, Harry. I like the starbase logo best; the blue is good.
One suggestion, though. The blue triangle is too thick in the corners. It looks as if you increased its size (from the inner triangle) by a percentage rather than making it larger than the inner triangle by a specific number of centimeters all around (such as with an 'inset' tool).

The problem is, that sort of tool doesn't exist in CorelDRAW (or at least not that I know of... Lobo?). You have to resize it, and then push and pull it into something that looks right. Plus the fact that rounded triangles are no standard shape, makes these logos slightly more difficult than the others.

Yes, it doesn't exist!

Exactly! AND I HATE THIS! Please Corel guys update this!

You poor CorelDraw users! Freehand has an inset tool, which can be set to positive values (inset) or negative values (expand). It comes in very handy for drawing noncircular emblems and borders and hull panel lines for starship schematics. I assume Illustrator has a similar tool. I actually have CorelDraw, but have never tried using it.

Corel Draw is a fine graphics program. *gets money from Corel*
Hmm i have to try out Freehand.

What is freehand? Adobe Freehand? How does this differ from Adobe Illustrator!?!

Macromedia Freehand is vector drawing program competing with Adobe Illustrator, which is the industry standard. I've been using Freehand exclusively for the past 5 years. http://www.macromedia.com/software/freehand/ Posted by Harry (Member # 265) on :
I might give it a go. But once you're used to a certain program, it's really difficult to learn all the new shortcuts, options, etc.
Hehe.. a trial version.

I prefer Illustrator myself. Used it for the logo on the MSFM site.
I made a moon using the Flaming Pear Photoshop plugin. It was for a composite I did as a background for the USS Al-Batani model I built.
Here's some more of the Al-Batani, if anyone's interested.
