FYI: According to Starship Modeller, Bandai's next kit (after the 1/850 refit Ent, 35 cm long) will be a 1/1700 Ent E, 40 cm long, late 2003: http://www.starshipmodeler.com/news.cfm

1/1400 would've been nice. Oh well.

I'd rather like to see a 1:600 range of Trek models. Luckily, I'd only want the TOS/movie ones, as the Enterprise-D would be something over a metre long, and DS9 would probably require a shelf the size of my back lawn.

The best model ever made of the "E" is the resin version bt Alliance. Easy to build too and inn your precious 1400th scale too! Me, I'm just hoping that a 2500th DS9 will be completed in my lifetime.....it'll be biiig but mot insanely so...

I've seen a review of that at Starship Modeler and it looks really good. The only downfall is that it's based on the First Contact design rather than the Nemesis one. For the time being I'll settle for my AMT kit.

Whispers on the internet say that the Nemesis version will be revealed at Wonderfest in June.

I wouldn't mind getting some movie ships -- that Constitution-Class looks beautiful, and I'd love an Excelsior-Class to go with it.

I agree there... that or the Reliant!
Of course, I'd never build the darn things because I really fouled up a few of the old AMT kits trying to aztec the hulls... so I'd have to hire someone to do it for me. *sigh* More expense.

The Bandai ships come "pre painted" so all you'll have to do id build them without gluing things up too badly.
....takes the fun out of it for me: everyone's model will look exactly the same.

I hope the pre-paint quality is good, then. I was never very impressed with pre-painted snap-together kits.
Wonder if they have any plans for a limited-edition kit with a pearlescent TMP finish?
