I know that, from time to time, people have attempted to determine the volume of certain starships (such as the 1701) using raytracing models and meshes.
I would like to create a little storehouse of that sort of information. Some techheads might find it helpful to have very precise estimates of ship volume available.
This was inspired by my recent effort to look for that information regarding the Jem'Hadar fighter. Not having LightWave, nor knowing how to determine the volume even if I did, I'm afraid I'm out of luck.
Anyone know what that might be, or would anyone else be interested in that idea?

Nob Akimoto at TrekBBS did a bunch of volume and surface area calcutions with 3-D Studio Max for Starfleet Ships. Supposedly he used a "calculate" command. I've asked other modelers to do the same for my Starfleet Museum ships, but they couldn't figure out how, and I haven't been able to contact Nob. Anyway, I have this info on my other computer and will post them when I get to the office.

Is that an actual quote from the series?

Ooooooo.... That's great, man! I'm still laughing about that, like five minutes later!
Yeah, so. I'm easily amused....
'Preciate ya and your sense of humor, dude!
Thanks.

Here's the data. Calculations were based on lengths from EAS
What do those bigass WYLB Dominion dreadnoughts work out to, volume-wise? Or the B-type Warbird, So'na battleship, Scimitar, mirror universe Negh'var, Kazon carrier, ...?
(Yeah, so I'm of the "size DOES matter, damn it" school o' thought. Sue me.)
