Wow, I was just looking for Daedelus Class schematics and I came across a page that featured a brilliant CGI Daedelus in DRYDOCK! And lo and behold I notice it's done by Seanr!!
WOW his stuff rocks, and I thought he only did bridges... that pic is pretty close to 'airable'/'publishable' quality if you ask me.
And I'm so glad he took my advice a few years ago (*grin* hee hee) and didn't make windows just 'blank white'. A lot of fan CGI'ers do that. The may have great models but all their lighting is really bright and doesn't interact physically with the model - making it look realistic. I mean this pic isn't like the BEST you can get - but it's PRETTY GOOD!

enjoy!
(The word i'm looking for is TANGIBLE - the ship in this pic looks like you could touch it.)

Okay, that's fucking amazing.
It just needs some retro workbees nad guys in EVA suits to be a masterpiece.

That'd be cool... TOS workbees? Maybe something akin to those 'pods' that Matt Jefferies sketched and can be found in the TOS Sketch Book?

That's a great pic. I've been using it on my Daedalus page at the Starfleet Museum (with SeanR's permission).

Do you know if he has any other -outside- starship pics?

I don't know if he has his own site, but he posts pretty often at Scifi Meshes. Go to the 3-D gallery and look for threads he's started.

Glad to see you like that one, it happens to be one of my favorites, too. BTW, you'd never know it by looking at that pic, but I never actually did finish that Daedalus mesh. It hasn't got any markings and is missing a lot of details - you could say it's in drydock because it's still under construction. Here's a high-res version of that image, and another of the ship by itself:

Here's a raw directory dump of all my artwork, completely uncategorized, except by name (my naming is fairly logical, though):

I've started many exteriors, but have finished very few. Here's a few of the better ones:

That's arguably the best-looking shampoo bottle with nacelles I have ever seen. B)
And I dig that proto-Ambassador, man.

Damn, Sean! I've been witing for someone to make a nice 3-D model of Probert's prototype Ambassador design for a while now.
Hell of a job.

Wow! Thanks Sean. That reminds me - I must update my Daedelus thread... I did add a few more windows to my OX Explorer.
Damn fine work there - I still love your Daedelus in Drydock. Your work on better lighting techniques for your inside shots has shown itself in the lovely lighting the for the Daedelus in Drydock.
The "Daedeuls in Drydock" is worthy of a Ships of the Line Calendar position. Very professional.
I like the Paladin... would have been nice for my DS9 spin off series... which had Ezri, Jake, Nog, Alexander, the girl from "Valiant" - (the lone survivor) and a few new characters. I think I posted some suggestions way back when... DS9 season 7 I think.
