Or, in english, The Elani Union. Some of you may remember the Elani Union that I linked to a while back. I work on them every now and again, usually just on ships. Drawing new ones or tweaking old ones. I've done a bunch of tweaking lately and I've changed the design ethic of the ships a bit, making them more plausible I think. I don't usually put too much detail into them, as I'm not that skilled.
Without further ado, here's the link: Elani Union. There's an up-to-date fleet chart here. (3000*1500, 469KB PNG)

Neat ideas but everal of you heavy cruisers (over 400m) look to have giant cockpit windshields.... What is that?

The ships you mention are a battlecruiser, a science vessel, and a heavy cruiser, no? The idea behind that window is something like what's on the bridge of a Star Destroyer. Although, the window should probably be made smaller... Hmm.

MUCH smaller: it would currently be at least four decks tall.
Not impossible though: ever see Larry Stroman's ship designs for the Alien Legion comic? Radical departures. A great site on AL stuff here: http://www.mainframe.ca/alegion/ I'll try and dig up some of the exptic ship designs for ya.

If anyone's interested, there's an old old old version of the site up at my old host that has previous versions of the oldest ships.

A heads up, I redesigned the older tanker and freighter designs to something based on the old green battlecruiser. I've decided that this structure that is way too big to be a window is going to be some older version of technology.

Here's a little article about the Y'mir Elanin, the really big ship on the page. Hopefully this might give some reasons for such a big ship.
Y'mir Elanin Class Supercruiser - History
The Supercruiser Project was started in 3261 (2317) by Elani ventla Jorani ir-Raxok during the second year of his 6 year term in office. The official mission statement for the Supercruiser Project was to provide a mobile platform from which to host various diplomatic, state and ceremonial functions, training programs and mobile senate chambers. A secondary function for the Supercruiser Project was to be a fleet command center for the Elani fleet. At the time, it seemed like a grand idea. The public approved the project, the budget was alloted by the senate, and construction began. ir-Raxok was guaranteed a second term in office. In the tenth year of construction (2329), problems began to arise. Top Elani engineers were still struggling to design slidewarp engines powerful enough to propel the 3090m ship through subspace. With only 35% of the ship constructed, and already overbudget, the Supercruiser Project was beginning to lose support. But ir-Raxok pressed the issue and construction continued. The budget was increased to accommodate the needs of the project, with minor grumblings from the public at large. It seemed as though ir-Raxok's dream would continue. Construction of the Supercruiser Project, now named the Y'mir Elanin (Pride of the Elani) was completed after 30 years (2352), with many in the senate now opposing the project. But the current ventla, Radanox wd-Gycoq heralded the Supercruiser Project and praised the public for their support. The project was an apparent success, and the Y'mir Elanin was entered into service in 3292 (2353). The Y'mir Elanin proved itself to be very valuble in many situations, and was extremely beneficial in the role as mobile senate chambers when quick person-to-person contact was required with members of government. During the Breen Wars the Y'mir Elanin proved instrumental in coordinating fleet movements. Now, after 54 years (2379), the Supercruiser Project is being questioned. Upkeep on the Y'mir Elanin consumes a large portion of the annual budget. Much of the technology and accommodations have not been kept up-to-date with current advancements and are now high maintenance. During the Dominion War much of the fleet movements and planning were carried out by smaller Alydi class battleships on protracted missions, as having all fleet movements planned from a central location was a security risk should the Y'mir Elanin be compromised. If current trends follow, the Y'mir Elanin will be decommissioned after a shortened service life and preserved in the Elani Union Naval Museum in orbit of Elanus. The Y'mir Elanin itself will become a wing of the museum, with its massive shuttlebay housing smaller examples of vessels.
