OK... Long story short: I'm doing a Star Wars commission for a someone and he wanted to see a sample of the paper I'm planning on using. Because it's taken me so long to get going on the project, I thought it would be nice to give him a little bonus on the paper sample.
This is some TIE variant from one of the games, I think. I believe it's supposed to be an unmanned drone fighter. Anyway, I had planned on using it in a Mara Jade piece that I never got to and have always wanted to draw it... so I did.

That is cool. AND it would work well with the Lego Star Wars too!

Yes, this is a TIE variant from one of the games ("Rogue Squadron", to be exact), and from some books, too.
Yes, it is unmanned, although manned variants were also made (but with different cockpit windows).
And, yes, it rocks and rules

Looks great- the drone also has some droid glowing bits in the "windshield", but you've captured the look of the craft very nicely.
Might look nice to have the starscape background done in nice opaque black ink. That would look great on the paper you've chosen, though you'll have to brush it on- rag paper will destroy a technical pen in short order.

Isn't this from the Dark Empire comic, originally?

Yes it is. It was used by the resurrected emperor to attack the world of Mon Calamari. The battle was then made into the last level Star Wars Rogue Squadron, one of my favorite games of all time. Those little buggers were very maneuvorable and could turn at 90 degree angels.

Aban. Your talent sickens me.
Jost jokes - fantastic!
Ohh I'd love to see you do some Stargate pics. Goa'uld ships/artifacts/ancient/Asgard stuff. 'twould be cool.

Wow. That's real nice, Aban. Is that charcoal? Pastels? If he doesn't like it, I'm sure a couple of us here would be glad to take it off your hands...

It's colored pencil with a little watered down gesso used for the bright highlights. It's little more than a sketch, though, and should probably have a good deal more detail in it.
If he doesn't like it, I'll toss it in the air and let you guys wrestle for it
