I love the classic lines of some of these ships, especially the Star Raker. And the atmospheric styling was just... well, you had to be there in your formative years.

Quite a few games developers cite the TTA series as being the source of a great deal of inspiration when developing the look of ships for computer games.

I don't tknow what it is about the design ethic. The TTA ships are often bulky, ungainly, and devoid of any practical sense. But dammit, they look COOL.
