Short version: there is a game which allows you to make your own aircraft and fly them with somewhat realistic physics. I made this. It was as good-looking and true to the original as I could make it with the pieces available and, most importantly, she actually flies.
I do need to modify it to make retractable landing gear.

Doubt it. The physics are simplified. And besides which, this guy has already owned the idea:
